DETAILS
Last year the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) unveiled CSA Z1000-06, Canada’s first consensus-based workplace health and safety management standard. The new standard is designed to lead to a safer work environment for all Canadians by providing a model for developing and implementing an occupational health and safety (OHS) management system.
Developed with the participation of organized labour, employer and governmental representatives, the standard encourages a more systematic approach to meeting defined workplace health and safety objectives and increasing awareness. CSA Z1000 can serve as a blue print to help you meet your legal obligations as well as a tool that organizations can use to improve their health and safety performance.
The presenter, David Zimmerman, will guide participants through the standard and its requirements for implementing an OHS Management System using the Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology. This same methodology is found in other popular management system standards such as ISO 14001 (environmental management) and ISO 9001 (quality management).
