The Alberta Injured Workers' Society is a registered non-profit society. This organization works to represent workers in dealing with the Alberta Workers Compensation Board. All work is done on a volunteer basis and they do not receive funding from any level of government. This section provides information aimed at developing these qualities and is directed at all CEIU members. The purpose of this site is to provide a starting point for members on their rights to a healthy and safe work place. The Coalition Against Workplace Violence is comprised of a number of Nova Scotia unions (NSGEU, NSTU, NSNU, and CUPE). The presidents of each of these unions decided to meet on a regular basis to discuss issues of common concern to workers represented by all four unions. The right to participate is very important to this union and this forms the centrepiece of an effective workplace health and safety program. Electrical Industry Training Institute (EITI) is a leading private trades training institute in Surrey, BC. EITI has been providing apprenticeship and journeyperson upgrading training for the electrical industry since 1991. EITI's programs include a broad range of trades training, safety training and industry awareness courses. We currently offer over 75 courses for journeyperson upgrading, as well as full apprenticeship programs for powerline technicians and utility arborists. The MFL Occupational Health Centre (OHC) is a community health centre funded by Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and donations. The Power Workers' Union [PWU] is dedicated to work towards an accident free workplace for its membership. The Windsor Occupational Health Information Service (WOHIS) is a community based occupational health library, inquiry, video and referral service open to the entire community.
